All funds raised benefit the programs of the WCSC. Event highlights include:

Outstanding regular class racing
Secondary scoring awards adjusted for youth and new sailors on each boat
Beautiful Traveling trophies
Special awards for youth skippers/sailors
Silent Auction
Picnic lunch and awsome sundae bar

The Family Regatta and Picnic is intended to introduce children and their families to keelboat racing by giving them a sailboat racing experience. Boat owners will invite WCSC children and their parents to join them to experience the excitement of keelboat racing. Proceeds from the Family Regatta and Picnic will go to the WCSC and all donations/fees are considered donations to the 501(c)3, Wayzata Community Sailing Center.

The Family Regatta and Picnic will be superimposed on the Summer Regatta held annually in conjunction with Wine on Wayzata Bay. Because we want to involve children and raise money, we have set up additional ways that a boat can win.

Way to Win #1 – Standard WYC racing with trophies awarded at the WYC Banquet.
Way to Win #2 – Host children and non-racing adults.
Way to Win #3 – Have a person 16-years-old or less steer your boat
Way to Win #4 – Be the boat with the most funds raised
Way to Win #5 – Be in a special category, including;
- Youngest skipper
- Lowest average age of invited children
- Most generations on the boat
